Build relationships with key stakeholders of the the Group whilst leading and helping deliver risk based audits across finance and operational areas.
Our client is the largest distributor of building materials across the UK and and they have been helping build Britain for over 200 years. With 20+ businesses in the Group our client has grown to approximately 29,000 plus staff across more than 2,000 branches, stores and sites around the UK.
Proactively discuss the annual audit plan with the manager to ensure the optimum breadth of experience is gained
Hold planning meetings with executive sponsors and key stakeholders
Drafting terms of reference and RACM documents
Performing 1st review of internal auditors documents to ensure they align to senior stakeholders expectations
Performing and documenting audit work within IIA requirements
Performing "Hot Reviews" of Internal Auditors work to ensure a continuing focus on quality
Clearing findings with key stakeholders
Make regular contact with management and key stakeholders to document progress reached
Work with the Internal Audit Manager and Director of IA and Risk to drive improvements of departmental process and documentation.
Relevant professional qualification- ACA, ACCA, IIA, CIA etc
3 years plus experience of internal or external audit within a Big 4/Top 10 firm or large corporate
Passionate about working for and gaining a deep understanding of the Group
Desire to build relationships and liaise with key stakeholders to establish rapport and champion the function
