Background

We are a private family office based in Mayfair. We provide various services to family members and their associated entities including accountancy, taxation, legal, treasury, insurance, cash management and general administrative services. There are currently 14 employees based in Mayfair with a further 42 employees based in our US offices.

The Role

Responsibility for providing accounting, tax and cash management functions to a portfolio of family members and their various entities. This may include UK and overseas companies, partnerships, LLP’s, Sole Traders, Trusts and charities. This is an open ended role with the opportunity to grow and develop and be involved in a variety of commercial work and complex issues as they arise.

The work involved may include:-

  • Preparing management and year end accounts (FRS102 & FRS105)

  • Preparing Income & Expenditure financials for family members

  • Review bookkeeping

  • Preparing VAT returns & dealing with VAT compliance

  • Preparing/Assisting with personal & entity tax returns

  • Providing information for tax returns to be completed for different jurisdictions

  • Preparing P11Ds & PSAs

  • Preparing FCA returns

  • Reviewing Payroll

  • Producing Cashflow projections

  • Researching technical queries on accounting & tax matters

  • Cash management

  • Company secretarial work

  • Reviewing various legal documents such as tenancy agreements, contractor agreements, loan agreements etc

  • Providing other family services

Qualifications Required

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)

Experience Required

The candidate should be a general "all rounder" having at least 4 years UK accountancy experience including knowledge of VAT, cash management, payroll, P11Ds, corporation tax, personal tax and company secretarial matters. Ideally they would have professional accountancy firm experience and have experience of preparing accounts and VAT returns for a variety of different entities.

The candidate should have the ability to identify potential accounting and tax issues; research these; and interpret their research for their particular client, using outside advisers as required to assist in the process

A good working knowledge of Excel and Word is essential. A working knowledge of Great Plains, SAGE Line 50, SAGE Payroll and CCH is desirable but not a requirement.
