Jersey's financial services industry has been built-up over 50 years based on stability and reliability; services delivered by highly skilled professionals; and an industry governed by a robust legislative framework and high-class regulation. The Island's proximity to the UK and Europe, whilst maintaining its independence, makes it an attractive jurisdiction for international business.

Your new role
You will be working as part of the established audit team dealing with a wide range of clients involved in the following industries:
- Financial Services
- Investment Funds
- Real Estate
- Private Wealth
- Private Equity

Key responsibilities will be :

  • To handle all aspects of running and delivering client audit projects, reporting to manager / director;
  • To identify risk matters and selling opportunities, while exercising judgement within agreed parameters;
  • To control cost budgets, meet reporting timetables, prepare key client reporting documents;
  • Ensure professional standards are met and supervise and develop staff;
  • Develop professional relationships with clients and within the firm.
  • To actively manage your self-development and continuing professional education with a view to progressing in practice;
  • Have a genuine interest in understanding your clients' business with the drive to deliver exceptional client service.

The firm has a strong and continually evolving local client base that spans a number of other industry sectors, as well as the above.
The firm's financial services team provides specialist audit/assurance services and advice that assists their clients in dealing with regulatory and financial reporting, and keeps them alert to developments and challenges in the sector.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, have excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills together with an ability and interest in understanding your clients' business.
You will be a newly qualified (or either close to qualification or 1 year's post qualified) ACA or equivalent and demonstrate the determination of developing a career in practice and have an understanding of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
If you have experience of valuations work (property and/or real estate) that would be a bonus but is not essential.
Above all you will need the ambition and drive to succeed!

What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary commensurate with your skills and qualification level, and with the tax rates being much lower in Jersey your take home pay will be better than it would be in mainland UK!
Private medical insurance that includes dental and eye care comes as standard along with 23 days holiday to begin with.
Relocation allowance may be available (depending on the distance you are relocating) along with 2 weeks paid, furnished accommodation on arrival in Jersey to help you get settled.
Licensed residential status ("housing licence") is provided with the job to enable you to rent or buy on the island.
You can be yourself here - the firm values you as an individual and want you to realise your aspirations. You have a voice and your opinion counts. They will give you the challenge and support you need and you are able to shape your own career according to your strengths, skills and personality. What could be better?
