Your new role
An interim Systems Accountant role for a period of 6 months, to move the group's current accounting systems onto a new Open Accounts system, with one set of ledgers, policies, procedures and reports. Responsible for the provision of financial systems support, training and transformation based upon Open Accounts. Ensure that all financial and accounting systems are operating effectively to enable the satisfactory delivery of day to day business operations. Review the financial systems in light of the new Open Accounts system and to implement system changes where required to ensure optimum performance. Develop and maintain the financial reporting structure including dashboards to a standard which fully meets all business, statutory and regulatory requirements. Review and implement new financial system processes and procedures in liaison with senior Finance managers to facilitate the effective use of technology. Recruit and train the staff required to maintain and develop the new system after this role completes its tasks. Manage, plan and prioritise the work of staff as allocated.

What you'll need to succeed
Knowledge of Open Accounts. Essential thorough knowledge and in-depth understanding of the technical operation of a finance department. Ability to produce technical systems procedures and understanding allied to the ability to apply this understanding to the business environment. Previous experience of working on systems implementation. Experience of Open Accounts. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACMA, ACCA or ACPFA). Minimum two years recent experience of working with accounting systems in a complex business environment. Five years experience of working as an accountant within a complex business environment. Staff management experience including planning, producing and monitoring the workload of others. Previous experience of trouble shooting, problem solving and analysing information in an accounting and systems context. Proven experience of working with accounting systems, spreadsheets and preparation of documents for submission to committee. Clear and concise oral and written communication skills and proven ability to understand and explain complex accounting systems issues to non-finance staff. Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision. Ability to supervise and direct a small team as well as meeting deadlines.
