Job Description

Broad and varied role with a focus on both management and financial accounting duties, as well as financial analysis and various commercial aspects around partnering with the wider business and key stakeholders

Our client are a growing business in the manufacturing/engineering sector

Description

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of accurate and timely financial and management reports, including budget and forecasts, monthly management accounts, monthly and quarterly reporting packs and annual audit files and statutory accounts
  • Financial, commercial and project analysis to support the business
  • Implementing effective controls, business performance measures and financial planning
  • Overseeing monthly balance sheet reconciliation preparation
  • Business partnering to ensure key drivers are understood by the wider business and actions taken to improve performance where necessary
  • Involvement in the audit process, alongside the wider team
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax schedules and VAT returns
  • Some travel to and working from another site outside of the Dorset area will be required initially

Profile

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Possess several years' post qualification experience, with demonstrable experience of success in a comparable role and a track record of quickly adding value in temporary assignments
  • Be technically strong, with a high level of both financial and management accounting expertise essential
  • Have strong analysis skills and the tenacity to get to the answers
  • Be fully conversant with UK GAAP, with IFRS knowledge also desirable
  • Demonstrate experience of strong controls while providing commercial and financial support to a senior management team
  • Possess the ability to quickly adapt to a complex operating environment and engender confidence through your involvement with department heads, senior management and financial staff
  • Be a confident individual with strong communication skills at all levels and across all disciplines
  • Have systems proficiency in Excel and general accounting and reporting software - experience with Sage packages (Sage 200 in particular) will be beneficial
  • Be available immediately or within a maximum of four weeks
