Are you an Interim Finance Business Partner looking for your next opportunity? Do you have what it takes to lead on the business partnering function for the commercial arm of a world-renowned museum? Are you able to communicate with both accountants and non-finance staff? If so the Museum of London are looking for an Interim Finance Business Partner role for up to 12-months.
The role will focus on the commercial and front of house areas of the organisation, specifically liaising with the Director of Enterprise as well as other heads of department to ensure an excellent financial service is provided to these key stakeholders. Reporting into the Head of Finance, the main responsibilities of the Interim Finance Business Partner are as follows:
*Create strong working relationships with all members of the management team of the Museum of London's commercial and front of house teams, being the financial expert for all budget holders within this group.
*Lead on all accounting for the trading subsidiary including monthly management accounting, budgeting and forecasting and producing the statutory accounts.
*Attend various meetings as finance lead for the Enterprise team, including the Trading Board and the Docklands Strategy Group
*To provide financial analysis and modelling for business cases and review and constructively challenge business cases prior to approval.
*Lead in the planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications where this impacts on the finances of the organisation.
*Review and challenge quarterly forecasts produced by directors as well as providing insightful financial analysis into the KPI's.
The Museum of London is a leading museum established more than 40 years ago, based in Central London, Docklands and Hackney, with an income of more than £22m. With more than a million visitors each year they care for more than two million objects and hold the largest archaeological archive in Europe. This is an exciting time for the organisation as they have recent made the major decision to relocate to a new site at Smithfield Market and therefore are driving a campaign to raise around £70m to facilitate the move. This will allow the museum to significantly increase their visitor numbers and therefore income in the coming years.
This role will give you the opportunity to be the all-round financial lead for the commercial arm of a growing organisation which gives you extensive exposure across the organisation. In addition to this, it's a great chance to work with a fantastic team all of whom are very commercially astute and will build your knowledge for future roles. The role is based at their Barbican site with occasional travel to their Docklands museum.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified (CCAB) accountant with strong experience of business partnering with senior stakeholders and have exposure to producing statutory accounting. You will also have experience of variance analysis and providing ad-hoc analysis and carrying out large, complex balance sheet reconciliations. The client will consider candidates that have worked in the following backgrounds; a not-for-profit organisation that has complex commercial trading arms, a commercial business or a charity that doesn't have commercial operations.
