The Museum of London is a leading museum established more than 40 years ago, based in Central London, Docklands and Hackney, with an income of more than £22m. With more than a million visitors each year they care for more than two million objects and hold the largest archaeological archive in Europe. This is an exciting time for the organisation as they have recent made the major decision to relocate to a new site at Smithfield Market and therefore are driving a campaign to raise around £70m to facilitate the move. This will allow the museum to significantly increase their visitor numbers and therefore income in the coming years.

This role will give you the opportunity to be the all-round financial lead for the commercial arm of a growing organisation which gives you extensive exposure across the organisation. In addition to this, it's a great chance to work with a fantastic team all of whom are very commercially astute and will build your knowledge for future roles. The role is based at their Barbican site with occasional travel to their Docklands museum.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified (CCAB) accountant with strong experience of business partnering with senior stakeholders and have exposure to producing statutory accounting. You will also have experience of variance analysis and providing ad-hoc analysis and carrying out large, complex balance sheet reconciliations. The client will consider candidates that have worked in the following backgrounds; a not-for-profit organisation that has complex commercial trading arms, a commercial business or a charity that doesn't have commercial operations.

You will need to be immediately available or have a short notice period to be considered due to the upcoming maternity leave that this role is to cover. This will be a highly sought-after role that will garner a lot of interest as it is a genuinely career enhancing opportunity to add a household name to your CV so please do not delay in applying.
