Robertson Bell are partnered alongside National Savings and Investments (NS&I) in their recruitment for a Head of Risk based in London. NS&I are one of the largest savings organisations in the UK with over £156 billion invested by 25 million customers, whose savings are 100% backed by Government.

Line managing a team of 7, the Head of Risk and its team is responsible for all areas of risk - including but not limited to;

*Developing and implementing an Enterprise Risk Management Framework that will be used to support the board and executive committee.
*Maintain NS&I's overarching risk management policy
*Work with the outsourced provider to provide oversight of the processes and assurance that risks have been identified and controls have been put in place to efficiently manage those risks.
*Ensure risk management activities are integrated into strategy, business planning, programmes and BAU

And, all areas of assurance - including but not limited to;

*Implement an effective assurance framework through development and implementation of framework for first line controls testing and reporting.
*Work in partnership with other assurance functions within NS&I to ensure assurance over its outsourced provider in respect to retail and B2B clients
*Develop and deliver the annual integrated assurance plan
*Implement and maintain processes for monitoring and validating assurance and audit actions to provide assurance that identified risks are mitigated.

In applying for this position, the successful candidate will be education to degree level or evidence equivalent industry experience. It would be highly advantageous to those with knowledge of Government risk requirements, a good understanding of voluntary codes such as FOS, and regulations such as Money Laundering and Data Protection Legislation. Training will however be provided for legislation specific to NS&I products and government departments more generally where necessary.
