Job Description

Robertson Bell Finance are working with a dedicated and community focused Housing organisation in South London to recruit a Part Time Head of Finance and Operations. The company has a great reputation in the local area and they're looking for someone who can join them in an exciting phase of change as they strive for increased value for money for their residents. As a split role covering both Finance and Corporate Services, this is a wonderful opportunity to apply well-honed Finance knowledge while absorbing new skills from a very supporting CEO.

The Role

Reporting into, and working in close collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer, the role's responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, producing budgets and monthly management accounts, preparing the trial balance, and processing payroll.

In recent months, a keen Finance Officer has joined the organisation and is rapidly learning new areas of the Finance function, meaning this is a great opportunity to supervise and mentor a new but very capable member of the team. The Head of Finance will oversee their output and actively encourage them to adopt new skills.

Aside from Finance, other key areas of the role lie within Corporate Services such as Risk, Governance, Business Planning and Benchmarking. In these areas, the role will work closely with a very supportive CEO who is keen to impact knowledge to widen the postholder's scope of influence. As prior experience of these areas is not essential, this is a great opportunity for someone with strong Finance experience to broaden their horizons.

What's Required?

Appointable candidates will be qualified accountants (CCAB), or very strong QBE. Significant experience of the Housing sector is very highly desirable. As the role will involve regularly liaising with the Board and Audit committee, exceptional communication skills and an outgoing personality will be required, along with a passion for the sector and a desire to be a part of an organisation that makes a difference.

While this is a part time role, there is much flexibility around the schedule so I am keen to hear from anyone who meets the above criteria. CVs will be reviewed constantly so please apply immediately to be considered.
