Group Financial Controller: Stratford-Upon-Avon: £400 - £600 per day (dependent on experience)

Hays are currently working in partnership with a global business in order to assist them in the recruitment of an interim Group Financial Controller on a 6 month contract. With a turnover of £3 billion and further rapid growth plans, this is a brilliant opportunity to join an ambitious organisation with well developed strategic growth plans.

Each division of the group has its own finance function that reports into the group finance team. Group finance is a team that takes responsibility for providing consolidated management information to the board, along with group statutory reporting, insurance, group tax compliance and company secretarial.

The Group FC will report to the Finance Director with specific responsibility for monthly board reporting, external reporting, budgeting and forecasting cycles. Furthermore, this role will assist the Finance Director to change the group finance function from its traditional base of reporting to a value-adding function that works closely with divisional teams and provides strong financial leadership to Board. This will encompass moving from a predominantly number based function to understanding the operations of the business and identifying key areas of focus to deliver improved financial performance.

This role provides a great opportunity to shape the future of finance within the organisation. It is a high-profile role within the group, with daily contact with shareholders and senior divisional management.

Key duties will be based around four main areas:Finance Transformation - Driving process improvements and implementing suitable IT solutions.

  • External Reporting - Ownership of Group annual reports, consolidated accounts and monitoring GAAP.
  • Internal Reporting - Ownership of monthly Board reports, building a month-end close process and developing cashflow reporting capabilities.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis - Development of a reporting suite to communicate performance against expectations, KPI performance metrics and leading the implementation and development of reporting tools to analyse data.
In order to be considered for this role you must be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), have proven experience in a similar role, have had exposure to complex group accounting & reporting requirements and have excellent communication skills due to the need for you to present your commercial findings to Board.
