We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Accountant to join our well-established, dynamic and supportive accountancy practice. The role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work with an incredibly broad range of clients.

Our business is geared towards providing not only Accountancy and Taxation services but a consultancy-based service to support High Net Worth clients, Entrepreneurs, Inheritance Tax Individuals and Trusts through the lifecycle of their business. Reporting to the Associate Director, you’ll support our valued high net worth clients by providing a full 360-degree service.  You will prepare VAT returns and filing, bookkeeping (Sage and Xero) and provide full client liaison on updates, queries and preparing management accounts and cash flows.

Other General Accountant duties will include:

  • Prepare financial statements and managerial reports for a diverse range of clients
  • Preparation of management accounts and reconciliations
  • Prepare quarterly/monthly VAT returns and Ledgers
  • Work closely with Management to develop ongoing effective relationships with clients, and ensure retention

This is a varied role, ideal for a commercially minded individual who wants to develop their career in a client focussed environment. Additionally, your client focus is essential in building strong working relationships when managing a client portfolio.

About you

You will have proven and relevant experience working in professional practice and ideally be either fully ACCA or ACA qualified. You’ll also have/be:

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Proficient experience with Sage Line 50 accounts and Xero
  • Proven ability to complete a full set of accounts to completion
  • Exceptional communication and inter-personal skills at all levels
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
