Reporting into the Director of Finance, main responsibilities will include;
*Have an in-depth knowledge of statutory financial reporting requirements and financial regulations combined with proven experience of local authority accounting.
*Liaising with Auditors and attending committee meetings to ensure the highest quality reports
*Leading on the closure of statutory accounts
*Ensuring the medium and long terms financial plans are adhered to, and setting council tax budgets while producing key reports
The successful candidate will be fully qualified with Local Government and management experience, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls. You will be personable with excellent communication skills that has the ability to build rapport with budget holders in a warm engaging but often challenging manor. You must have the ability to prioritise work and to work to tight deadlines.
