Robertson Bell Finance are proud to be partnering with an exciting Education & Researcher provider in their search for a new Financial Controller in Central London. The organisation is going to embark on a period of change and growth with this role seen as pivotal in implementing this change.

Reporting into the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for providing an effective financial service and manage a small finance team in this hands on position. The role will have several exciting projects including a system implementation and upgrade while streamlining current processes and procedures.

Specific responsibilities include:
*Work across the business to provide detailed and accurate management information to stakeholders and board to allow for effective decision making and the smooth running of the business
*Lead on the preparation statutory of accounts and liaise with auditors to ensure they are approved within the deadline.
*Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, monthly forecasts and annual budgeting
*Leading on the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting exercises
*Lead a small but effective team while working in the detail with processes which need upgrading

The successful candidate must be a professionally qualified accountant with a driven and proactive approach gained from either Audit, Commercial or Public Sector. You will have a strong sense of commercial acumen and an analytical mind-set. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, flexible in approach but firm when necessary, who can work on their own initiative and thrives when thinking and acting proactively. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and develop staff that you manage and build rapport with a range of finance and non-finance persons across the organisation.
