Are you a Finance Manager / Senior Management Accountant from a retail or distribution background (and used to a high volume transaction business), looking for your next long term challenge in a growing and entrepreneurial retail and distribution business? Are you looking to work for a financially very stable group company with a turnover in excess of £80m which is growing at a very fast rate? Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, your role will include the preparation of group management accounts, performance analysis, statutory accounts, simple tax returns, liaising with auditors, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations and ad hoc assignments as they arise. You will carry out these duties for a number of companies within the group. You will be based in a small yet growing finance team and be able to make this role your own as they are expecting the role to evolve and develop over time (for example, being able to specialise in either the management accounts or the statutory accounts side of the business). They use a bespoke software package and training will be provided. The company want someone with a stable CV, who is looking to join a firm for the long term and who can grow and develop with the business. There will be opportunities for future growth and promotion within the business and the chance to build a small finance team around you.
To be considered for this newly created role due to growth, you will likely be a qualified ACA accountant with some post qualification experience, although qualified by experience candidates will still be considered. You must have experience working in the retail and / or distribution sectors, and be used to working in a high volume business. You must be looking to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial and stable group company that is experiencing high growth. You must have experience of preparing management accounts and experience of statutory accounts and simple tax returns would be an advantage although not essential. An understanding of areas such as reconciliations, sales ledger and purchase ledger is also required. You must be a team player, be commercial, have an entrepreneurial approach to work and be able to work to tight deadlines and use your initiative. You must also be a car driver and live within commutable distance to Henley Upon Thames. There will also be travel required for the first 12 months to another office based in North London before the role will permanently be based in Henley.
