Your new company
Hays Senior Finance is working exclusively with a leading Group, seeking a Director of Finance to sit in their Head office in Perthshire to ensure financial stewardship of the day to day finance function. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to work closely with the Board of Directors and lead a dynamic team in a fast-growing and progressive business who have seen 25% growth in the last financial year. Working predominantly in Perthshire, there will also be monthly travel to the offices in London.
Your new role
You will take a role as Finance lead for the wider organisation and will be responsible for all business planning and reporting to the financial board. You will lead by example, a strong team of 14 direct reports by challenging, supporting and advising on all matters of finance within the business.
You will be responsible for the accounts for all Group Companies, subsidiaries, joint ventures and associated undertakings including the profit & loss account, balance sheet and cashflow with insightful commentary as well as the annual budget process supplemented with ongoing re-forecasting recognising the ever-changing environment in which the business operates. You will also be responsible for overseeing and developing the Group's retail operations and future growth to maximise profitability while minimising risk. Further responsibilities include monitoring cashflow, liaising with banks, identifying foreign exchange exposure and risk mitigation therein, salary and remuneration monitoring, investment appraisal, monitoring legislative changes and the continual strive for process improvement including staff training.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced finance lead with real time examples of team management on your CV. You will be a fully Qualified Accountant with an ACMA, ACCA, CA OR ACA qualification. A strong knowledge of consumer product and an operating knowledge of retail, wholesale and eCommerce would give you a distinct advantage as will any experience of internal or external investment. You will have a have a proven track record of operating at, or reporting to, Board level accompanied with strong interpersonal skills. A confident communicator with strong analytical abilities, you will have the ability to challenge and influence in a constructive and supportive manner.
