Job Description

The Production of timely, accurate group reporting to the Board

Your key Responsibilities will include:-

  • Preparation of the monthly consolidation for the Group, including european company reconciliations

  • Liaison with overseas entities, reviewing and challenging the month end results

  • Better structuring the timing, format and content of reporting from overseas entities

  • Preparing the monthly Board schedules

  • Preparation of statutory accounts for the group and liaison with auditors

  • Responsible for the accounting of investments, goodwill, shareholder loans, FX and inter-company balances for all group companies

  • Responsible for the accounting of all UK non-trading entities within Sage 50

  • Maintain shareholder loan statements

  • Production of group policies manual

  • Review and documentation of group accounting policies and ensuring consistent policies are adopted by all group entities

  • Keep up to date with accounting standards, reporting forthcoming changes and implementation recommendations to Group FC and CFO

  • Provide adhoc technical analysis researching guidance from legislation, accounting standards and where applicable advice from external firms

  • Maintain delegated authority matrix and review on a quarterly basis

  • Document financial controls that are in operation, recommend improvements to Group FC and CFO and drive through agreed changes

  • Review, improvement and documentation of existing processes within the team

  • Work with the business and finance teams to implement policy and procedures to support compliance with legal obligations and mitigation of risks

  • Compilation and maintenance of a finance risk register

  • Automation of consolidation in Qlikview

  • Automation of statutory accounts production

  • Ensure compliance with audit, legal and regulatory requirements

  • Provide operational guidance to business and finance teams

  • Support the Financial Accounting team, Tax, Treasury and Group FC in any ad-hoc tasks


The ideal candidate will be fully qualified (ACA or ACCA)

Have experience of preparing the monthly consolidation for Group, including European company reconciliations

Be a great communicator and a real people person
