Your new role
This team run 20-50 deals a year, and being mainly sell-side this means most of them complete. Buying and selling stressed and distressed businesses means overcoming a range of complex financial, legal and operational challenges, often under considerable time pressure. The Special Situations Mergers and Acquisitions team overcome these obstacles by implementing proven rapid fast and highly effective acquisition and disposal rescue funding strategies.
Though the team's experience in acting for both buyers and sellers of businesses in stress/distress scenarios, the range of work you'd get involved with could include:
- Raising Finance
- Deal Structuring
- Operational Due Diligence
- Contingency Planning
- Valuation Support
- Assessment of Funding Requirements and Financial Modelling
- Risk Identification
- Negotiation Support
- Post-Merger Integration
Their deep and extensive knowledge of/relationships with the international special situations investor community means you can also be involved in forming optimal funding solutions to stakeholders in distressed scenarios.
What you'll need to succeed
Our client is looking for M&A/Lead Advisory experience to at least Assistant Manager level. Your Professional Services (boutique or full-service firm) experience will include the key skills it takes to support a deal, including valuations, model-build, preparing Information Memoranda, industry research and more. Full training will be given in the crossover with Restructuring.
