Be an integral part of a vibrant team and make a real impact on our work.

We currently have exciting opportunities for qualified accountants to join us in key new roles and help HMRC to deliver a customer-focused, efficient and straight- forward service that closes the tax gap.

Working with case teams, policy specialists, solicitors and counsel, you will advise on accounting matters heading towards litigation and working with country-wide colleagues to share knowledge and expertise. Your broad duties may include: providing expert accountancy advice on UK GAAP and IFRS; assessing Accountancy aspects of high-profile potential litigation in Large Business cases and Project managing the delivery of evidence; preparing and submitting expert witness reports; acting as an expert witness in Tribunals; assisting with projects, and generally delivering a first class service to support an effective, efficient tax system.

With substantial technical experience as an accountant, ideally at a Big 4 accountancy firm or multinational group, you will be experienced in foreign exchange or financial instruments/loans (or both) and will have a recognised qualification from (and a continuing membership of) ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI, ACCA or equivalent. Good communications, leadership and analysis skills are essential, as is the ability to demonstrate sufficient expertise to retain credibility with courts, tribunals, accountancy firms, taxpayers and senior HMRC officers. A confident decision maker, you will have the ability to see the wider picture and make fact-based judgements, and you will have plenty of integrity together with a focused, self-motivated approach.

All of our advisory accountants joined us from the profession or industry to enjoy life on the other side of the table. In return for your expert knowledge we offer exceptional training and development, a genuine work/life balance, and truly challenging and rewarding work.

Closing date: 23rd July 2012
