PURPOSE OF ROLE

Provide accurate and timely group financial and management information to the Board

Ensure Subsidiary reports are produced on a standard basis and responsible for ensuring group accounting policies, systems and controls are up to date and applied

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for all financial accounting, ensuring accurate and timely production of monthly management information packs across the group in UK and foreign subsidiaries.

Prepare multi-currency consolidation of monthly accounts.

Monthly review of output for UK and foreign subsidiaries’ results for inclusion in group accounts and review variance reports.

Manage Swiss and UK accountants and liaise with staff and external accountants in Spain and Germany on accounting issues and ensuring that reports are consistently and accurately prepared and produced to timetable. Reconcile monthly management accounts from subsidiaries to Sun system.

Develop group management accounting information and statistics for reporting to Board and management.

Review cash and revenue forecasts and provide information to management on a timely basis. Managing cash flow across group.

Monitoring cash requirements across the group, effecting transfers and reporting to CFO on group balances. Assist in developing treasury function.

Ensure proper internal controls in place for the group and authority levels adhered to.

Keep up to date with latest accounting standards for relevant adoption by the group.

Production of Interim and Statutory Accounts for the group together with information required for auditors and the Board. Ensure working papers and supporting documentation provided to meet timetable.

Liaising with Auditors for Final Reports and assisting CFO in forecasts for trading statements.

Annual budget planning and production of the group consolidated and parent company annual budgets.

Update of budgets and forecasts for the group as required.

Monitor costs across the group and identify areas of problems and cost savings.

Intercompany accounts – Process monthly corporate allocations, intercompany reconciliation and manage recharges of services across the Group.

PLC (parent company) accounts – responsible for plc accounts and dormant companies.

RBS (funding facility) - reconciliation of RBS accounts, dealing with RBS audit and managing facility.

Payroll and related matters for UK and plc. Prepare UK staff payroll and filling of timely payroll returns.

Production of schedules for corporation tax and UK tax returns with BDO.

Overseeing foreign subsidiaries statutory financial statements and tax matters and sign-offs.

Overseeing foreign subsidiaries payroll.

Responsible for Sun Accounting System. Maintenance of chart of accounts and developing key reporting templates for accountants to ensure consistency of group reporting. Key support for accountants on Sun.

Improve, enhance and develop the overall current financial processes, controls and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy of the reporting.

Other ad-hoc projects.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Essential

- Qualified accountant, ideally ACA
- Must have group consolidation experience of foreign entities and intercompany account reconciliations
- Minimum two years post-qualification experience
- Good knowledge of Excel (look ups/pivots/formulae), Word & other Microsoft Office applications
- Attention to detail and accurate and meeting deadlines
- Consolidations
- Practical experience of accounting systems

- Sun Systems & Vision excel knowledge
- Industry experience
- Experience of Sage payroll
